"Batman and Robin" target Willow Man

A GROUP of fathers’ rights campaigners, including men dressed as Batman and Robin, descended on the Willow Man near Bridgwater this afternoon.
The group, who say they were part of the New Fathers 4 Justice group, arrived at the iconic statue off the M5 motorway at around 2pm today.
The campaigners, who say they want greater rights for fathers to see their children, attempted to peg a 10ft St George’s flag near the Willow Man with the words Vote English written on it, a reference to their support for the English Democrats political party. A spokesman for the group said the man dressed as Batman left the scene after a traffic officer arrived but it was not known what had happened to the man dressed as Robin.

Two New Fathers 4 Justice campaigners, Nigel Ace from Clevedon and Jeff Skinner from Staple Hill met Liam Fox MP at his surgery on Friday night in Pill.
The superhero's wanted to ask Mr. Fox for an equal parity of rights for dads to see their children and to make the 'secret' family courts 'open'.
The dads last month confronted Mr. Skinner's MP Roger 'The Dodger' Berry and got a frosty reception, however they were very heartened as Mr. Fox said that 50/50 status for dads was fair and only right.
He also agreed for the family courts to be brought in line with the crown and magistrates courts.
Nigel Ace, a protester from Harriet Harman's roof last year said "Why has it taken so long for common sense to prevail. Mr. Fox has brought common sense and a breath of fresh air into this debate".
"We can now look forward to having equal status, same as Mum's and this will stop many of the 100,000 new child contact dispute cases that come to court each year in the UK."
"Jeff and I have had over 60 court cases between us!!! Jeff fought for 8 years and me a meagre 2 1/2 years....but it looks like when the conservatives come to power, that cases like ours will be over"

BATMAN, Superman, Captain America, and Spiderman joined forces for a protest in Southampton.
The “superheroes” from New Fathers 4 Justice hijacked the city’s old town walls near the Bargate in support of Chandler’s Ford dad Lee Moorman, 30, who is fighting for access to his child.
Motorists passing below honked their support while around half a dozen police gathered close by.
The protesters unfurled banners from the bridge over Castle Way and demanded equal rights for fathers over a megaphone.
Mr Moorman said he was having “sleepless nights” after last seeing his three-year old son in July. He said he wanted joint custody not a couple of hours access in a contact centre.
“I’ve got to go to the family courts which I’m told will be a lengthy process and cost a lot of money.”
Mr Moorman said he was planning a monthly support group in Southampton. He was joined by protester Mark Harris, 50, who said he needed 133 court hearings to win the right to see his children.
The former Shirley resident set fire to a wheelbarrow of the court papers he accumulated over his ten-year battle as a show of disgust for the “biased” family courts.
Mr Harris was one of the protesters who last year scaled the roof of deputy Labour leader Harriet Harman’s home while she and her husband were inside.

Dear Mr. Berry,
Many thanks for your time and allowing me to attend your surgery with Mr. Skinner on Thursday.
You stated on BBC Bristol radio that you would not advocate a 50/50 split on the basis of it needs to be in the "best interests of the child".
I am very disappointed with your stance as you told us at the end of our meeting that it "was only fair that Dad should have 50/50 contact, as a starting point". Without being cynical, are you telling us one thing and preaching another???
What I tried to explain to you was, that if there was equality and an equal parity of rights, then the majority of the 100,000 new cases per year would not come to court. In the minimal cases of "bad parents", then we have a system in place, which is called the Social Services, which act in the best interests of the child.
Your stance is "presumptive", that is to say, if the father had 50/50 then this would not be in the best interests of the child. In law and other equality rights legislation, there has been no "presumptive stance". For example, we give black people equal rights in this country, but we dont presume that they are more likely to get involved in gun/knife crime than white men do we?? The fact is they are more likely than white men...so on that basis, do you think it would be politically correct to revoke their equality rights??
The minimal "bad parent" cases are minimal amongst the dearth of contact cases that go on each year. In fact, the "bad parents" is equally split between Mums and Dads. Recent Domestic violence stats show that the reported cases are equal between men and women and that a woman is 7 times more likely to report an incident than a man. (On that basis, it might be that Mum is the main culprit of DV)
The recent independent UNICEF and OECD reports as well as Iain Duncan Smiths "Breakdown Britain report" demonstrate that a family unit is best for children or where broken, for the child to see BOTH PARENTS. All the evidence says that absent fathers are more likely to give our children more likely hood of getting involved in drugs, suicide, mental health problems, disobedience, anti social behaviour etc
Labour have incentivised the family to "be apart" in the tax system. This is utter madness!!
Labour have passed the IVF and Embryology bill that legislates that the parent or "second partner" does not have to be the biological father.
New technology now going to be passed shows that there is no need for men anymore as artificial sperm has been invented.
Have we all gone mad???
This is not good old fashioned commonsense.
We are not looking for much Roger....just equality......we just want to see our kids.....that's all!!
Once again, thankyou for your time and hope that you can pass on my message to Jack Straw.

Two 'New Fathers 4 Justice' protesters confronted Roger Berry MP today at his Labour constituency office in Staple Hill.
The "Superdads" wanted to ask Mr. Berry why Labour have ignored the demands of fathers rights since the protests began in 2002.
Local father Jefferey Arthur Derek Skinner, 42 of Staple Hill dressesd as Batman and fellow Harriet Harman roof top protester Nigel Ace, 41 of Clevedon, decided to put Roger "The Dodger" Berry on the spot in their superhero outfits.
Jeff Skinner said "All we want is an automatic presumption of 50/50 contact as a starting point when the parents split. Dads should have the same same rights as Mum's in order to see the children. Giving us what we want will reduce the 100,000 new child contact cases that come into the courts each year in the UK" "All we want is equality....it's not a new concept is it? Remember when blacks were not allowed to sit on the bus?? our plight is quite similar but ignored" "This should not be happening in the 21st Centrury"
"Mr.Berry asked us what we wanted. I was flabbergasted as we have been saying the same thing to the labour party for seven years!! it's typical of Labour, as the electorates needs always seem to fall on deaf ears!!"
Mr. Ace said " He asked us what we wanted, but the truth be known, he knew already what we wanted, but he will sidestep, and not address a real equality and commonsense issue. The labour party suprise me as they give all ethnic minorites, gays and lesbians, foreign workers, women at work more equality and rights, but sadly Dads are marginalised by their feministic agenda. He tried to "dodge "our demands today....I wish I went as Dennis the Menace instead in order to nullify his lack of enthusiasm for our plight"

New Fathers 4 justice protesters converged on the Royal Courts of Justice in London today in a bid to clean up the family law system.

The group which is the 'continuation' of the former 'fathers4justice' says that family law is twenty years out of date and is not fit for purpose and is in a complete mess.
The Government won't clean up the mess so the 'superheroes' who fight for fathers rights have embarked on an overdue spring clean of the building and system.
Superheroes such as Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Mr. Incredible and Captain America tried to suck up the mess with a specially modified "Bat" family law cleaner. They hope to make a start on cleaning the 100,000 child contact cases that come into dispute each year in the UK. One in three children will lose contact with their Father within 5 years of their lives.
The group have a specially modified "batcleaner" that will suck up the inequality and biasness within the family courts and has specially adapted settings to deal with the dirty problems of "false allegations" and the "nasty smell of corruption." .
"If the family courts were "open" how they should be, We wouldn't need to suck up the mess in them and the other courts in the land, like my bat cleaner the law certainly does suck! We hope to clean up family law...who knows, It might suck up a few corrupt judges and the "gravy train, money hungry solicitors"
Jack Straw, the Justice Secretary, has only given a token gesture to our demands. Currently, only selected members of the media or selected cases will be seen and reported. This does not go far enough and the family courts must be brought in line with the crown and magistrates courts.
'New Fathers 4 Justice' will not let the Government sweep this issue under the carpet and in the coming months we will demonstrate to the Government using direct action that New Fathers 4 Justice mean business.

A BRISTOL judge hailed a "momentous day for the press" as family courts across the country were opened to the media for the very first time.
His Honour Judge Paul Barclay made the comments before the first open family case at Bristol Guildhall.
But campaign group New Fathers 4 Justice, an offshoot of the original campaign group for fathers' rights, threatened to "storm family court hearings" in the city unless they are made "completely open".
At the Guildhall yesterday, both parties in the child care case were asked if they objected to a Post reporter being present, before the hearing started with Judge Barclay reminding the court that "no reporting of any proceedings should in any way identify the child or any other lay persons in the case".
Although rules have been changed to allow reporters to attend many more family court hearings, reporting restrictions mean that it is very difficult for journalists to write a meaningful report of what they see and hear.
In addition, the new rules contain a number of provisions which will allow courts to exclude journalists.
At yesterday's hearing, ushers, clerks, lawyers and Judge Barclay were very accommodating – but it is ultimately up to individual courts and judges if they accept reporters.
The judge even called a hotline run by industry body The Newspaper Society to confirm that the Post reporter was a bona fide newsgatherer.
Ushers pointed the Post in the direction of courts allowing reporting, limited to just two yesterday – a private custody case, and a child care case.
The care case involved two foreign boys, aged one and two, whose mother had abandoned them.
There had been plans for the mother, who has mental health problems, to take her children back to their native country but she had gone missing.
The boys have since been in the care of Gloucestershire social services but there has been a delay in adoption proceedings. The case was adjourned until Friday.
Campaign groups said more still needs to be done to ensure that courts are totally open. Nigel Ace, Bristol co-ordinator of New Fathers 4 Justice, said: "Pressure from New F4J is building up regarding Jack Straw's 'open courts'. They are only being opened to selective media on selected cases. We want them to be 100 per cent open as per the crown and magistrates' courts."
Bristol City Council yesterday welcomed the new rules, and said it would help public understanding.
The spokeswoman said: "We welcome the move to allow reporters into family courts and hope that it will help improve general understanding of the role of social workers and the complexity of issues involving the care of children."
Campaign group Families Need Fathers (FNF) is disappointed at the new rules.
Spokesperson Jon Davies said: "Whileit is vital to protect the identities of the children we cannot understand why reporters will be forbidden to read court documents or judgements.
